When the snow fell in Tendring on 22nd November,
my 9 year old granddaughter messaged me with these words:
‘GRANDAD, it’s snowing! It’s so beautiful and Christmassy! So excited’
Christmas means many things to many people. It’s a family time – a time for giving, receiving and sharing. It’s a time to light up the house, put up decorations and play Christmas music. For some it’s a time of great stress and worry, particularly if money is short and presents and food are so expensive.
But the real meaning of Christmas is about none of those things. It’s about a God who loves every one of us so much that he came into our world as a small baby, lived a short life of goodness and love showing us what God is really like and how to live and enjoy life to the full.
Wise men travelled a long way to find the child Jesus, and when they
found him, they knew for certain that they had found someone very special and they worshipped
him as their king, their God and their Saviour.
Wise men and women still seek Jesus, and when they find him, they too discover those same things. We would like to invite you to our Christmas services so that you too can celebrate the coming of Jesus, the great joy of Christmas
